Hi, I’m D, the steward of Sunny Patch!

I am a passionate plant person deepening my roots in the Hudson Valley. For 10 years I operated a flower farm serving the Beacon community. I always wanted to find a way to connect my community of flower lovers to the physical farm–to the magic of the living plants in the ground. From the seed of that idea Sunny Patch Garden Co. emerged.

My home with my partner and poodle in the city of Kingston has become the test plot for this business. What was once an empty lot has been transformed with raised beds for veggies, berry bushes, apple and hazelnut trees. Pollinators are invited to dine on echinacea, goldenrod, asters and other native plant delights. (I still dedicate one area of the yard to annual flowers, like my favorite, dahlias.) Beyond horticulture I am excited to hone my carpentry and building skills with future projects.

I hope you reach out to share your garden dreams big and small. Whether it’s a container of lemon balm for tea or envisioning a food forest for your neighborhood, I’d love to help. Everyone deserves a place on this earth to enjoy some moments in the sun.
